Wheel / Tire Balancing |
|
Technically, balancing refers to the uniform
distribution of mass about an axis of rotation,
with the center of gravity in the same place as
the center of rotation.
Wheel/Tire balancing is a little bit different.
A balanced tire is one where the mass of the
tire, when mounted on its wheel and car's axle,
is uniformly distributed around the axle.
Balanced tires can mean the difference between a
positive and a negative driving experience.
In high performance vehicles drivers are more
sensitive to imbalanced tires, but they can be a
problem for any driver in any car.
Properly balanced tires and wheels are important
for tread life, comfort, and responsiveness.
When your tires are not properly balanced you'll
feel vibration or shaking. Unbalanced
tires can also mean premature wear.
Tires should be balanced when they are mounted
on wheels for the first time, remounted, or at
the first sign of vibration.
Shore Tire uses state of the art balancing
equipment and ensures that the proper wheel
weight is used to match the lip of the wheel.
