And what a life its been! In June of 1946, Waldo G. Shore opened a wholesale tire outlet called Gillette Tire Sales Company on East 31st Street in Kansas City, Missouri. After thirteen successful years, he changed the name to Shore Tire Company, Inc. and expanded his operation to sell more than just Gillette Tires. Sales continued to grow, and now over five decades later, what was once a small tire shop has become one of the largest independent tire distributors in the Midwest, with over 800 active dealer accounts throughout Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.

Christopher Shore, grandson of Waldo, is now the president of Shore Tire. George Shore, Waldo's son, recently retired from the business after serving as president for 35 years. Offering a wide variety of tire and related products and services, Shore Tire is located in Lenexa, Kansas, just off 95th Street and Interstate 35 and employs over 45 people. It has grown its sales and its reputation through its continual emphasis on the customer. And even today, the Shores continue to treat their customers like family, offering high quality tires, excellent service and a friendly, honest approach to business.
